​Gilded was founded and is owned by two sisters, Lindsay and Sarah. Their family moved to New Braunfels back in 1997, and this, used to be little, town quickly became home.

Growing up, Sarah fell in love with all things art while Lindsay was drawn to the world of business and entrepreneurship. After high school, their paths took them in different directions—Lindsay headed to Baylor University, where she earned her business degree in 2013, and Sarah trained at the Aveda Arts Institute in Austin, graduating the same year.

In their 20s, Lindsay’s career took her across the country (and beyond), working with companies like Google, Twitter, and several tech start-ups in New York, Austin, Montreal, and Los Angeles. Sarah stayed rooted in Austin, building a thriving career as a high-end hairstylist and perfecting her craft.

Fast forward to 2020: the sisters were both living in Austin, catching up over their monthly wine night. Between sips and laughs, the conversation turned to their future—and to the idea of bringing something high-end and modern back to their hometown of New Braunfels. They dreamed of creating a space that blended the Austin, LA, and NYC vibes and quality.

And then it clicked. With Lindsay’s business background and Sarah’s high-end hair experience, they realized they could bring that dream to life in a big way.

So, they went all in. They sold their homes in Austin, cashed out their 401(k)s, and poured every bit of savings from their 20s into renovating a charming 1920s house. What once was a three-bedroom home slowly transformed into the salon you see today.

Upon opening in 2023, they invested heavily in the latest color technology in the industry, bringing in the world's most renowned color line, Goldwell. They recruited top-tier stylists from some of the best programs in Texas and continue to invest extensively in education for their staff each quarter to stay at the forefront of the nation's trends. They are extremely proud to have built the most talented team of stylists not just in New Braunfels, but in the surrounding areas, from Austin to San Antonio to Houston.

For Lindsay and Sarah, this is more than a business. It’s their way of giving back to the town that shaped them. They love New Braunfels, and they’re proud to have built a place that brings a little extra beauty, style, and joy to the community they adore.
